Minnesota Heritage Publishing is a small family-owned publishing company committed to preserving the heritage of Minnesota. Located in Mankato, Minnesota, the company has recently published four books, all concentrating on the rich history of the Blue Earth County area. Julie A. Schrader, a local historian, genealogist and author, started the company in 2001, in an effort to preserve and protect important facts, milestones and the heritage of the region.
A Mankato native, Schrader's experience spans over 30 years of genealogical research, printing several family history books. In 1990, she published and served as project director for the Heritage of Blue Earth County, a regional history book featuring over 950 pages of facts, biographies, photographs, illustrations and maps of Blue Earth County. Schrader has personally authored two books, The History of the Red Jacket Valley, and Maud Hart Lovelace's Deep Valley - A Guidebook of Mankato Places in the Betsy-Tacy Series. Over the years, she has volunteered her time to many Blue Earth County Historical Society projects, including the book, Images of America, Blue Earth County, MN. She was the executive director for the national Betsy-Tacy Society for eight years and the editor of the Katoland Connection newspaper for seven years. Her writing has also appeared in the Mankato Free Press, Blue Earth County Historical Society and Betsy-Tacy Society newsletters.
We appreciate the great reception and interest that we've received from the community for all of our books. Your support allows us to continue to publish books that will preserve the history of Mankato and Southern Minnesota. Thank you for your patronage.
